Locally known as “South Bowlo”, the South Tamworth Bowling Club (South Tamworth) is a well-known community club offering fantastic bowling greens, great dining and good entertainment, establishing a long-lasting name in NSW’s regional New England area. Recently transitioning to SENPOS guided by Richard Worgan, the Club sought an intuitive POS solution that could support integrated club operations, improve frontline efficiency, and deliver stronger reporting and system connectivity across departments. We caught up with Matt Hall, Club CEO to learn more about the Club and his experience.
About South Tamworth Bowling Club
Known for its hospitality and member experiences, South Tamworth offers signature dining at Southside Kitchen, a 2-time Perfect Plate Awards winner, serving up classic favourites with a fresh twist. Southside Kitchen is a go-to for great dining in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Also offered is an in-house event hospitality via Southside Events.
The Club delights customers with weekly social bowls, live entertainment, weeknight dining specials, raffles and the annual Bowls Carnivals, including the Ladies Fours Carnival, now celebrating its 14th year.
This April, the Club will also host “From the Coast to the Plate”, a signature dining event offering a feast of market-best seafood prepared by head chef Aakash Gurung. The event will see an exciting take on familiar dishes, promoted as being designed to be “shared, savoured and enjoyed”.

A seamless transition with agile technology
The Club has onboarded several SENPOS terminals across food and beverage outlets, a new Roam Stocktaking device to ace stocktaking as well as SENPOS’ Visual Content display software for a powerful, centralised way to manage digital signage across the venue – an invaluable addition to weekly promotions and events.
While a POS system plays a vital role in delivering fast, seamless front-of-house service, its true value lies in how effectively it integrates with back-of-house operations to drive efficiency and strengthen customer engagement. Integrating your POS technology with the third-party applications your venue uses can help make your business more agile and reduce manual processes, which can lead to costly errors. By integrating SENPOS with cash recycling and BI tools like Consillion and Wirely BI, South Tamworth can ensure financial accuracy and performance, aiding operational decisions now and into the future. As Matt explains, “we now have a system that is agile, responsive and backed by strong integrations” that position them well for the future.
Implementing any new technology in a business can present challenges and may impact regular workflows, which is why it’s essential to have a partner that you can depend on to make the process simple and efficient – and for Matt, SENPOS delivered just that. “Implementing a new POS system is one of the more operationally demanding transitions a business can undertake”, he describes, and it’s by working with “the right partner” that can make all the difference to the experience and the end result. For Matt, he describes the transition as being “seamless, professional and highly collaborative” in relation to receiving a solution that understands the Club’s operations, needs and room for growth.
As clubs like South Tamworth Bowling Club continue to evolve, having trusted partnerships and scalable systems is now even more essential to remaining competitive and creating memorable customer experiences.
