Wallsend Diggers, established in 1960, has long been a pillar of the Wallsend community priding itself on being a community club built by members for its members. Spanning over 2 locations, the club offers a family-friendly environment with a covered playland, 2 level Mezz bar, multiple eateries and bars, a choice of function spaces plus a popular bowling green. Guests and members are treated to an overall memorable and inviting experience meaning they return time and time again.

We recently installed SENPOS with 23 tills at the Diggers and we spoke to Mark Stanborough, Deputy CEO, about why the club chose to partner with SENPOS and what their experience has been so far.

Why did you choose SENPOS over other suppliers?

We ended up choosing SENPOS because of a variety of factors. One of these was real-time updates and the back-up system. Being able to make changes to any till in our venue and have these reflect almost instantaneously on the screens and in our sales was a great improvement for us. Being local was a major factor also.

What was your main pain point with the previous system?

The number one concern with the previous system was support. On occasions, calls would not be answered and then support would not be able to assist.

What have you enjoyed about partnering with SENPOS so far?

What we’ve really enjoyed about partnering with SENPOS is definitely the support that has been provided to us. It has been really great. Even before we even signed up, the service was good and communication was simple. The training provided was also in-depth and the ongoing support we were promised, has been delivered on. The tech staff have been nothing but helpful in answering our queries and assisting our staff to set up the system.

How did you find the transition process?

The overall system, once set up, from a front of house point of view has been fairly seamless in terms of training staff to make the switch from the old POS to the new system. Having a 24/7 support service has ensured that our staff can feel comfortable using the system and learning new things and implementing them as well, knowing that there is someone they can contact to troubleshoot any queries along the way.

We’re really looking forward to any new updates or developments from SENPOS that may be in the pipeline!
